Features
DBL Interactive provides several features that distinguish it from other Bayesian Network modelling tools on the market. These are summarised below.
» User and User Group Management
Through the built-in user and user group management features of DBL Interactive, you can precisely control who has access over your networks. You can precisely control which people are able to view, edit and publish your networks. The user group management features remove the requirement to set access permissions for individual users.
» Network Management
DBL Interactive contains all of the model development and display features of desktop Bayesian network modeling tools. Over the Internet you can add, delete and edit nodes (either nature, decision or utility nodes), states, decisions, probabilities and utilities in your networks.
» Collaborative Network Development
DBL Interactive provides a user-friendly way of collaboratively developing Bayesian network models with your colleagues or clients. Versioning functionality is built into DBLi that enables you to save 'working' copies of any Bayesian network model. You are then able to use the built-in publishing tools in DBLi to publish any copy or version of your network to a user group or to the public as you see fit. DBL Interactive also enables you to create discussion boards for your networks where users can have online conversations.
» Network Documentation
DBL Interactive provides several functions for documenting the important components of your networks. First, DBL Interactive allows you to attach short and long descriptions to each network component (such as nodes, states and field data sets) and enables you to create information pages for a network and for each node within a network. Second, DBL Interactive allows you to attach ancilliary information to networks such as PDF documents, images, or reports. This makes it easy to attach all relevant information to your networks.
» Storage of Field Data
DBL Interactive makes it very simple to store the field data (case data) that is related to your networks. A built-in field data set editor enables you to create one or more field data sets (case files) for your networks. These data sets can be uploaded to your network at the click of a button to update probabilities in your network.
» Support for Probability Elicitation from Experts
Eliciting probabilities from experts can be a time consuming and tedious task, particulary when you have large probability tables. DBL Interactive has a built-in Conditional Probability Table (CPT) Calculator that makes it easier to complete probability tables using expert opinion. The CPT Calculator not only reduces the number of probabilities that you need to elicit, it also checks for logical consistency in the elicited probabilities.
» Mapping ang GIS
DBL Interactive has built-in tools that make it easy for you to link your Bayesian networks to GIS data so that you can produce mapped output. These output maps can be overlayed on to Google Maps and the mapped outputs can be saved as runs.
