About Us
DBL Interactive was developed by Carl Smith and Andrew Ling from the School of Integrative Systems, University of Queensland, Australia.
Andrew Ling
Andrew is a software architect and has several years of experience developing applications to support the ever changing requirements of business. He has been working with Bayesian Network models since the beginning of 2007. He has been inspired by Bayesian network models as a way of improving the decision making abilities of the businesses he works with.
Carl Smith
Carl is an agricultural scientist, and since 2002, has worked with farmers and natural resource managers to create decision support tools using Bayesian Networks. Many of his projects have been situated in remote locations, such as outback Australia and South East Asia, making it difficult for collaborators to attend regular meetings to develop, update and use decision support tools. This insipired the development of DBLi as a means to collaboratively build and use Bayesian Networks models via the internet.
